COURSE DESCRIPTION
Bronze Star
Students who are 12 or under and can swim 400m comfortably can challenge themselves taking the Bronze Star. This award introduces basic life saving skills and first aid. Students who successfully complete Bronze Star can take the Bronze Medallion award without meeting the 13 years old age prerequisite.
Cost – $150.00 + HST
Dates: July 14-18th Time: 12:30-2:30pm
Bronze Medallion + Emergency First Aid
Students who have completed Bronze Star or are 13 years old can participate in Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid. This is the first step on the leadership ladder towards becoming a National Lifeguard. Swimmers will work on strokes, endurance, rescues and first aid.
Cost – $230.00 (includes CPR mask) + $45 for Canadian Lifesaving Manual
Dates: July 14-18th 12:30-5pm daily
Bronze Cross
Students who have completed Bronze Medallion can participate in the Lifesaving Society’s Bronze Cross award. This certificate allows them to move on to the National Lifeguard and/or the Lifesaving Swim For Life Instructor. Students will learn how to supervise swimmers, rescue skills and build on the first aid skills they have already developed.
Cost – $195.oo + HST
Dates: July 14-18th 12:30-5pm daily
Lifesaving Swim for Life Instructor
Students must have their Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross award and be at least 15 years old on the last day of the course.
Dates: June 27 – 29
Cost: $330+ HST

Students who are looking to pursue employment as a Swim Instructor/Lifeguard will need to complete this course to be eligible for employment.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years of age by the last day of the course and hold their Bronze Cross certification.
Learn everything you need to know to teach the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program (preschool and school aged swim lessons). This course will have an mandatory online session June 23rd from 5:30-9:30pm.
